In wool production, Texas leads all other states. 6. Dr. Pepper was invented in Waco, Texas (late 1800). 7. Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World (If you have read all my Texas essays and can remember what you read, you’ll know this. 8. The Texas capitol dome is taller than the U.S. capitol dome. 9. San Jacinto monument commemorating the TX battle for Independence is taller than D.C.s Washington monumen 10. Texas has the 10th largest economy in the world. 11. Texas State Hwy. 30 from Georgetown to San Antonio was created to avoid the Austin metro traffic. 12. Austin is called Silicon Hills (with many tech companies.) 13. A site near Amarillo holds more than 40 percent of the helium used annually in the U.S. 14. The Texas state flower (Bluebonnet) is only one of 5000 species of Wildflowers in Texas. 15. The Dallas-Ft. Worth airport is larger than New York’s Manhattan Island. 16.
